In this newsletter we illustrate our product versatility by only mentioning some exceptions and specials.
- Introducing new design LiftHood washer range
Recently a whole new design washer range with a complete liftable washtunnel was introduced. What makes it
unique is the internal liftsystem so the overall height stays low due to the absence of huge external
portals with hoist equipment. This makes it very suitable for companies having low washroom ceilings. By
pushbutton control the washtunnel is completely raised for easy access for daily cleaning and maintenance.
Also new in the options list is a clever engineered guiding system for unsorted crates throughput with
absolutely no adjustments needed. Compared to ordinary guiding systems it also reduces the wear of crates
dramatically and thus saving on crate life and money...
- NEW: MEATEQ grinders added to Boldt program
Starting beginning of June 2004 this Swedish size reducers are added to our program. Meateq grinders were recently
introduced on the market and because of the smooth design combined with rigid construction a succes. Available sizes are
200, 300 en 400mm to be used for the size reducing of fresh or frozen products like meat, cheese, fish, fat, hides and
others. Capacities vary per product en size reduction (holeplate diameter).
- Vat- (Dolav) and rackwashers for Sara Lee Foods NL (Meester-Stegeman)
At Meester-Stegeman meatproducts (owned by Sara Lee Foods) recently two new Boldt washers were installed and started up.
Because of internal routing update it was necessary to centralize the cleaning including extended automatic handling.
One of the supplied systems is the PLC controlled tunnelwasher W240 with high powerwashzone and a sanitizing afterrinse
incorporating two heavy duty hydraulic tippers and buffertracks. Unfortunately the existing Boldt cabinetwasher model
W265K was taken out of use after a period of 9 years.
The rackwasher model W360KV is also fully automatic PLC controlled and cleans two racks each 200kg at once. This floormodel
is executed both ends with liftplatforms for loading and unloading. After washing and sanitizing the racks are ready for
pick up by palletruck.

- Frozen block sizereducer
In close co-operation with GTI-Process Technology fruitprocessing plant Geurts in the Netherlands obtained a Boldt
frozenblock size- reducing system together with 4 special vatlifts. The first system consists a Boldt size reducer
(blockbustermodel BFB 750-900) and infeed / discharge beltconveyors. This system in comparison with traditional
hammerbreakers gives superior cutting results (whole fruit) where as product damage is reduced to a minimum. The broken
fruit is conveyed into special fruitcontainers with a warmwater jacket and insulated lid to prevent freezing. With 4
columnlifts these fruitcontainers are lifted and fruit is dumped into jam production cookingvessels.
- Total crate washing and handling solution supplied to COOP - Switzerland
After early deliveries to its competitor Migros now supermarketchain COOP -Switzerland- also choose Boldt for their new
fully automatic cratewash- and handlingsystem. The PLC controlled system was installed March 2004 and is situated on two
floorlevels, connected by 8 meter high Boldt cratestacklifts. The system is capable of doing 6000 unsorted crates per hour
on cratetrolleys and incorporates automatic cratetrolley unloaders, lifts, cratedestackers, turning and presorting stations,
W1250 washer, D400 dryer, sorting stations, stackers and automatic trolley loaders. After trolley loading the crates are
immediately going into the in-building breadproduction area where the crates are filled before returning them to the 1600
Swiss stores.

- Special washer+dryer unit for Nestlé Maggi-Works in Singen - Germany -
For the cleaning of different sizes of barrels and other parts used in the soup production Nestlé Maggi-Works recently
ordered a Boldt barrelwasher W500 + dryer D200 + tracks. Because of high cleaning demands a special lay-out of the
washerzones was necessary. Besides heavy items the system is also capable of dealing with very light items. After washing
and drying all cleaned items are transported back to the soup process area.
- Washer + dryer for Kemper - Germany
Meatspecialist Kemper in Nortrup (Germany) replaced their old washer for a new 2-lane Boldt cratewasher W700 + dryer D400.
Now 2400 internal meatcrates of different dimensions are handled per hour. The hourcapacity together with the restricted
available floorspace needed a different approach of cleaning the heavy blooddrip soiled crates. By using a clever
watermanagement for the washer, water and energy-use is kept to a minimum.

- Washer for cuttingboards
Unilever Best Foods snackplant Schafft in Germany had a Boldt washer type W360.21 for cleaning plastic cutting boards
started up. These boards sized 1000 - 1700 mm long, 400 & 600 mm wide and 30 mm thick used to be washed manually in the
cuttingroom. Increased hygiene demands and looking for alternatives to reduce labor forced the company to look for an
automatic boardwasher & sanitizer. Also by cleaning one set of boards from a group of tables outside the cuttingroom
resulted in less production loss and thus gain effiency.
To clean the heavy boards with numerous knivecarves thoroughly, Boldt designed a compact washer with two washprograms.
The washer features a seperate prewashfunction followed by a hot mainwash with chemicals. By special chaintransport the
boards are transported through the washer. Besides the standard Boldt features this machine is equipped with an 82°C hot
water sanitizer in the afterrinse, heat recovery and an efficient vapour extraction system.
- Washer for productmoulds (specialism Boldt)
Sarah Lee owned meatplant Cornby in Gent - Belgium had a new Boldt mouldwasher type W700.42 installed for cleaning numerous
different productmoulds and lids. The washer has several washprograms to handle the wide variety of most coagulated
protein soils and grades. Each washprogram is preset with different transportspeeds, top/bottom spraypressure and
different chemicals. The PLC controlled washer also features an insulated body, 82°C hot water sanitizer for afterrinse,
heat recovery and an efficient vapour extraction system.
- Washing and handlingsystem for plastic vats (Dolavs)
For the new fat melting plant of company Ten Kate - the Netherlands, also a Boldt vatwasher + tracksystem was installed.
The vats (dolavs) are soiled with animal fat and are placed on an infeed track by forklifttruck. After automatic detection
the vats are buffered prior entering the vatwasher type W265KS-3. By one of the chosen PLC controlled washprograms each
vat is cleaned completely inside and outside and sanitized at final. The vats are then automatically transported on a
discharge track leading into the storage place and picked-up by forklifttruck.

- New developments within petfood equipment
Since the growing need for steamingtunnels for petfood the Boldt designteam optimised the existing tunnel design of the
current tunnel range (max. 26.000kg/h) by further increasing the steaminjection efficiency and finetuning the Boldt
extruders. A quick releasesystem for the cored moulds makes the tunnel multifunctional in use for large chunks (dog) and
for small pieces (cat/kittens). Cuttingunits at the tunnel rearend have been further optimised to meet the growing
demands for different anglecuts and chunksizes.

- Block Crusher for Carels-Goes (NL)
Recently, fruitprocessing plant Carels in the Netherlands obtained a Boldt frozenblock size- reducer for fruit. The system
consists of an infeed beltconveyor for fruitblocks and a Boldt size reducer (blockbustermodel BFB 600-700) and cuts frozen
fruitblocks equally ino small pieces in a minimum of time. Also deepfrozen fruit with a strong fibre texture such as
orange is broken into small pieces without prethawing.
By using the Boldt size reducer (blockbuster) the pre-thawproces can be totally eliminated and brings savings from day one
of use.

- Pick-and-place installation for potato foil bags
A Boldt pick and place installation to arrange and buffer potato foil bags was recently installed at Peka Kroef, a
well-known potato processing plant in the Netherlands. The fully automatic installation, directly setted up behind a
double belt pasteurizer, realizes a maximum buffercapacity on a small floorarea. By using vacuumtechniques in combination
with a unique Boldt design and construction up to 7000 kg/h of potato foil bags with different foil sizes are picked up
from both pasteurizer belts, stacked, buffered and destacked again at the bufferbelt end. The buffercapacity of nearly
half an hour guarantees no productdamage in the pasteurizer during stops of the packaging machines at the rear end.
